MPW advertises competitive bid opportunities for public improvement projects as required in Iowa Code section 314.1B.  Project bid requests are advertised in the Muscatine Journal and listed below.  Project documents for competitive bids are also distributed to construction plan houses.

  • You will only be added to the bidder's list for the categories you select, so be sure to check every category for which your company is qualified to bid.
  • Be sure to put your company name on both pages.
  • After you complete the form, please date it and return it to us.

NOTICE OF DATE CHANGE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT AND ESTIMATED COST OF THE ABOVE PROJECT (West Substation Utility Building 1C-OP230555)

Notice is further given that the Board of Water, Electric, and Communications Trustees of the City of Muscatine, Iowa, will meet at 5:28 PM, on March 28th, 2023, at 3205 Cedar Street, Muscatine, Iowa, to hold a public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, Bidding Documents, and estimated cost on the above project for the purpose of adopting the same. Any interested parties may appear and file objections thereto. Following said adoption, the Board will receive a report from its duly appointed representative on the bids previously opened, together with recommendations, and may review and act on said bids at this time, but in any event, shall act upon the bids no later than 30 days after the date of opening.

Estimated cost of the Work is $243,590

Commencement of Contract shall start within 15 calendar days of written authorization to proceed with completion thereof on or June 28th, 2024.
